Downtown Denver Engagement Photos | Alisha and Preston

So I am really starting to like people from Iowa. Both Alisha and Preston recently relocated from Iowa, and I just shot an awesome wedding in Vail that I will post soon with an amazing couple that flew into town from Iowa. So yeah, Iowa rocks! These two were made to be in front of the camera. I generally ask the couple that I am shooting, what sort of mood do you want to go for, meaning fun, serious, sexy, goofy, or whatever. I was told that they are generally a fun couple which was totally true, but these two gave me some awesome serious expressions, which I am a total sucker for, but rarely find couples that can pull it off. These two were amazing! Alisha and Preston are getting married this fall in Cozumel Mexico, and can’t wait to be there for their beautiful destination wedding.

Barney Ford House Wedding in Breckenridge | Emily and Tom

So if there ever were a Bride and Groom who knew how to party, these two would be near the top of the list. Like all weddings, they all start out with there fare share of formalities. However, I think everyone is always waiting to get the keg tapped, and the music playing, as the real fun starts at the reception. I am realizing the more and more I shoot the wedding, just how cool being the photographer really is. I love being able to be at all the different segments of the wedding. Even meeting in the planning process, its great to hear all the progress they have made and all their little details they are working on. Then on the big day, you get to see it all come together. At the wedding itself, its great to hang out behind the scenes and watch all the preparations, the laughs, the tears, and the fun! Thanks both Emily and Tom for being an absolute blast to work with, it was an absolute honor.

Team Roping | Gill, CO

So a long time passion of mine has been the Rodeo, but in the past five years of living in Colorado, I have taken a much larger interest in it, and have taken my own personal equestrian skills to the next level in hopes of maybe getting more into it myself. Our horse Bandit has been trained for mostly English riding, so as I look more into it, I can for sure see myself on a beautiful Buckskin gelding in the hopes of maybe one day competing. But for now, I’m taking it all in and learning what I can from watching the local amateurs try their hand at some team roping. Not only is the actual competition pretty bad ass, but the community of local cowboys and cowgirls sure know how to have an awesome time. With country music playing, coolers of beer, and the entire family watching on horseback, I am loving it even more!!!! Here are just a few from a recent evening.

Wedding at The Arrabelle and Vail Wedding Deck | Lisa and Mark

Lisa and Mark recently were in town from California for a smaller, yet very detailed and intimate wedding with a ceremony on the Vail Wedding Deck, and a reception at The Arrabelle at Vail Square. Emily Campbell with Bella Design and Planning did an outstanding job with the many details of the day, as well as keeping all the logistics running smoothly. With perfect temperatures and blue skies, the day was flawless, and made for the perfect destination wedding. Many thanks to Lisa and Mark for allowing me to be there for such a special day.

Aryn and Stormy at Somerset Farms in Longmont Colorado

Aryn recently met me out at Somerset Farms in Longmont Colorado for a few photos her and Stormy before they make their big move back to Arizona. I had an absolute blast photographing the two of them as they are obviously very easy to look at, and quite natural in front of the camera. For the most part, I went with a natural photojournalistic approach towards the shoot, but did bring out the big lights for just a few more commercially looking photos. Thanks so much to Aryn and Stormy for being so great to work with.

Boulder Colorado Wedding | Jamie and Wael

Jamie and Wael were recently married at First Congregational Church in Boulder, CO followed by a reception at their home. Despite a little bit of a rain delay, the rest of the evening was wonderful. Jamie and Wael have the perfect location for a backyard wedding, and everyone appeared to have a blast.

Emerald Valley Ranch Wedding | Elizabeth and Claudio

So when you have to turn on to a dirt road and drive an additional thirty minutes to get to a wedding venue, thats generally a good sign that a wedding is going to be at a pretty cool place. Elizabeth and Claudio were recently married at the Emerald Valley Ranch in Colorado Springs for a beautiful morning ceremony, followed by a very multi cultured reception with lots of tradition. Thank you very much to both families for being very accommodating, and to Elizabeth and Claudio for being so great to work with. Also, thanks to Haley Poulos for giving me a hand.

Peaceful Valley Ranch Wedding | Aubrey and Kirk

So I have been trying to think what I can possibly say about this couple, and honestly can not begin to put it into words. I will say this though, when it came time to cut the cake, the DJ played a song that was so special to them, they stood there and looked in each others eyes, kissed, just about cried, and could not take their eyes off each other for about 2 minutes, until they remembered that they had a wedding to host. It was simply amazing. Not to mention their vows to each other were so moving, that the entire church including myself, shed a tear. Besides all the love going on, these two managed to throw one hell of a party, which included every genre of music available, including Mariachi. Aubrey and Kirk, thank you so much for letting me be a part of such a special day. Its people like you, your friends, and family that make me love what I do so much. Also be sure to check out my assistant Haley Poulos, who grabbed some amazing shots as well.
