Cow + Sheep + Chickens + Great Pyrenees + Mud = Good Times

Haley Poulos, who is an amazing photographer and lucky me, my assistant this wedding season, invited me out to Berthoud, CO this morning for a little farm fun. I was not sure quite what to expect, but it ended up being quite the educational experience. I was a little restricted as I only had one camera, and one lens, which is not usually how I roll, but I think its great practice as a photographer to learn how to make what you have work for you. Aspen Winter Wedding Elopement | Amanda and Rowdy

When Amanda and Rowdy first contacted just a couple weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in photographing their elopement, I had to control my excitement as this is totally my type of wedding. Amanda and Rowdy decided that they still wanted the traditional attire, bouquet, fancy dinner, and the best part, a PHOTOGRAPHER!!!! I personally had a blast as I was able to rely on my photojournalism roots most of the time as until later in the day, everything was absolutely real and un-staged. We had some time in the evening to putter around downtown Aspen to stage a few shots, but I believe my stronger images came during the real stuff. Many thanks to both Amanda and Rowdy for trusting me with such a special occasion, and putting up with my crazy requests later in the evening……
