Boulder Family Photos | Chad, Lea, Alexis, Gabe, and Mason

I had the pleasure of meeting this amazing family recently at the CU Boulder campus for some fun, relaxed family photos. I don’t do a whole lot of family stuff, though I do find myself doing them more and more lately. The weather was perfect, and thank god, the campus was pretty much empty. Anyhow, enjoy…..

Aryn and Stormy at Somerset Farms in Longmont Colorado

Aryn recently met me out at Somerset Farms in Longmont Colorado for a few photos her and Stormy before they make their big move back to Arizona. I had an absolute blast photographing the two of them as they are obviously very easy to look at, and quite natural in front of the camera. For the most part, I went with a natural photojournalistic approach towards the shoot, but did bring out the big lights for just a few more commercially looking photos. Thanks so much to Aryn and Stormy for being so great to work with.

Family Photos at Chautauqua in Boulder | Jamie, Wael, and Mattea

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Jamie, her daughter Mattea, and Wael for a little Engagement/Family photos the other day in Boulder’s Chautauqua park. When we met, Mattea could barely look at me as she was extremely shy, but by the end of the shoot, she had become the star. Many thanks to all for being such great sports, and putting up with my crazy ideas.

Denver Family Photos | Sam, Meagan, and Clayton!!!

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Sam, Meagan, and their newest addition to the family Clayton! I photographed Meagan and Sam’s wedding in Vail a couple summers ago, and was thrilled when Meagan asked if I could take some photos of their family. I get along great with all my clients, but Sam and Meagan have always been an absolute blast to work with. From meeting at 7:00am for an engagement shoot on a Saturday morning, to making me feel like family at their wedding, it has truly been an honor. Without further delay, here they are……

Alicia, Rick, and Abby

I met Alicia, Rick and Abby last week to grab a few family photos prior to their wedding coming up in July. Abby who is Alicia’s daughter came along to join in the photos and it is good she did, as their two adorable dogs needed to be distracted now and then so that I could grab a few of just Alicia and Rick. I even was able to grab a few in film, my latest love. Despite the constant drizzle I had a great time and am super excited for their small intimate wedding later this summer. Thanks to everyone for being great sports in the rain!!!!

It really sucks being one of my pets……

Sorry for not posting in quite a while, but its a slow time of year. That will change shortly as I have a very cool intimate wedding planned on Friday up in Aspen. In the meantime, whenever I get a cool new tool to put in my camera bag, I tend to use one of my lovely animals as my subject. This time my cat Meadow drew the short straw and helped me try out my new ring light. I hope to put it to use in a fun portrait session soon, but in the meantime here’s a quick sample.

Family Photos, Just One Anyway

I really don’t do much when it comes to family photos, only because it starts to feel like a formal portrait session way to often which is totally not me. However, when friends or family ask me to I don’t mind all that much. I think I just need to develop a style for them and start controlling the situation a little bit more. I usually just do what people want me to for their family portraits rather than me directing more. It also wouldn’t hurt to say upfront I don’t do FORMAL PORTRAITS!!!!! Anyhow, here is just one picture from a session I did for a good friend from work. Johnny was my primary instructor at my full-time job when I was in training and helped me get through a few tough times. Just a funny moment…….
